eXeLearning 3.0 Beta 1 marks the beginning of a significant evolution from version 2.9. The free and open-source tool eXeLearning, widely used in the educational field to create digital learning materials, launches its 3.0 beta version with a refreshed look and several improvements that represent a major step forward in its development.
The first change is immediately visible: a more modern and intuitive interface, designed to make it easier for teachers and creators to work efficiently. Added to this are the new drag-and-drop feature and the introduction of “boxes” that help organize content more clearly.
The update also brings new interactive iDevices and more customization options, opening the door to richer and more dynamic learning materials. Another major advancement is real-time collaboration, which enhances teamwork, along with improvements in security and user authentication.
Regarding installation and use, eXeLearning maintains its versatility: it can run locally, on servers (including Docker), or in the cloud, and it supports export formats compatible with Moodle and other educational platforms. All of this comes with multilingual support and the backing of an open community that continues to drive its development.
Although it is still a beta version and not yet suitable for production projects, these innovations point toward a more powerful, collaborative, and adaptable tool that meets the current needs of digital education.
