    Dear all,

I came across the following problem while trying to translate the interface into Simplified Chinese: after translating on the POET software, I couldn’t get it saved, and it kept displaying error message, as shown in the attached screen shot.

I’d be grateful if anyone can let me know how to solve this issue.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Duan

Dear @cgduan, I’m the coordinator of the translation teams. I don’t exactly know what your problem is, but if you want to be part of our team, and help with the translation into Simplified Chinese, just send us a full or partial translation (your PO file) and I’ll check it and submit it to the source repository.

    Regards

    Dear @jrfern,

Nice hearing from you! Thanks for the invitation, I’d be happy to become a member of your translation team (simplified Chinese).

Again, my problem is that the translated PO file cannot be compiled into the MO format and used, using the POET software. I’ve also attached the PO file for your reference.

One more thing I’d like to mention is currently there are two Simplified Chinese language folder in the software, one is called ZH and the other is ZH_CN. This is really confusing as I don’t know which is which when choosing language at the interface. I think it will be helpful to keep just one Simplified Chinese language folder.

    Best wishes,

    Duan

Hi @cgduan, thank you very much for your file. I fixed the format mistakes and uploaded it  the git repository.

Some comments: you didn’t translate the present PO file, but a quite old one (don’t worry, I merged both of them). The header section in general was quite old (versions of eXe, babel…). You didn’t fill the translator’s header either, so I still don’t have an email to contact you.

I normally prepare the uptodate PO files to translate, and check your translations to fix technical problems before uploading them to our site. If you give me an email account, I will be able to send you an uptodate file to translate the next time a new version of eXe is ready.

Anyway, welcome to the translation teams, and thank you very much for your contribution.

PD. We normally discuss the technical problems by mail – so when I have your mail we’ll discuss the double zh / zh_CN issue.

Looking forward to receiving news from you,

      Friendly,

      jr

    Dear @jrfern,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I found that the PO file of the Simplified Chinese was the old version. After downloading the new version from the Github, I can now translate some (not all) of the language strings into Chinese, as shown in the attached screen shot.

My email address is: chengguiduan@gmail.com; and I’d be pleased to hear from you.

    Best wishes,

    Duan
