No html export in 2.3

Hi,
Just upgrade to new 2.3 exe but I had to back of, when exporting to html, it displays a warning about meta-data, after validated, nothing works.
I use last Win 10, and I tried with installed and readytorun.

Hi Fred,

It’s just a warning to prevent wrong metadata. Click on “Yes” to export without changes or go to the “Properties” tab to check the current information (title, description, author, license…) before exporting.

If it doesn’t export, please attach the elp or provide a download link. If you don’t want to share it here, send it to the email address that you’ll find in the page footer.

  I get an error too. Thanks a lot for reporting. I open an issue in GitHub. We’ll try to fix it as soon as possible. We’ll also try to fix the elp so you can export it.

The bug’s been fixed. You can test the solution before the new version is released:

* Go to the folder where eXe’s installed.
* Open this file with a text editor: exportvalidation.json
* Replace “pp_license” (line 8) with “pp_newlicense”.
* Open eXe an try to export.

Does it work?

just install 2.3.1 and open a 2.2 file, still same issue, no export.

  Did exe 2.3.1 fixed the issue ? Cause I had to run 2.3 portable, change license value to make it runs.

My source file is broken ! No save, no export.

The one I sent to you last time, all backup (magic of cloud sync). I am trying to find an offline backup .

I really appreciate a fix.

I can open, save and export my broken file using 2.3 portable with pp_license modification. I tried this when I told you it was ok.

But actually, exe 2.3.1 doesn’t fix anything.

At the moment, I will use 2.2 until issue is fixed.

We tried to replicate the error with the elp you sent us but we haven’t been able to.

Can you send us the error you are getting trying to export?

If you can send us your elp, it would help us detect the problem faster.

Sorry not to close this thread, but still problem with exe 2.3.1 and this elp file :

With exe 2.3.1 : open and save but no export

With exe 2.2 : open ans export but no save (extraheader error).

I sincerely regret to have use this new version I cannot modify this elp file anymore.

I just downloaded 2.3.1. and was able to export your file (watch this video). This is the exported file.

May be you just uninstall and install again eXeLearning to make sure you have updated correctly the application. If you still have problems please send us the log file to have more information.

Apparently Licence is not saved, but export works fine for me (see video). My system:
- OS: Windows 10.
- Browser: Firefox Quantum 64
I have commented this in the issue. It should be reopened (I’m just a teacher not a developer). Maybe the window asking for the licence is behind the window? Please, tell us about your system configuration (OS and browser). I will try to reproduce de problem.

Hi José,

I have the same system configuration. I had tehe same issue on notebook and university computer with Win 10 and Firefox 64.

I managed to edit this elp file using old 2.1 exe but it didn’t help reopening .

Please try unchecking the “Create package compatible with old eXe versions?” option (Advanced user – Properties – Package – Advanced options). Does it save the license if you do that? New related issue. Thanks…

Sorry, it doesn’t work.

I reopen my famous file about MARP (modified and saved with success on Exe 2.2) and it hangs on export.
